Blue and White Striped Dress

The high slit train is still going strong, y'all! I wasn't lying when I said that I was obsessed with maxi dresses with high slits. But what's so great about this dress is that if you don't want a super  high slit, you can easily button it up and make it a full length maxi dress.

Now I'm all about showing some legs 'cause hey, girl's got some legs over here, but sometimes I want to be a little more conservative and button it up a little bit. We all know my love for dual purpose clothing so this piece just can't be a surprise to anyone!

I love how my floral clutch just amps up the style volume on this dress. Which, in case you didn't know, fall is all about some floral power. So what better way to transform your more summery pieces into fall worthy pieces then by mixing in some fall pieces? Oh and that embroidery on the clutch?

That's definitely a fall trend right now too.

We've been hustling this week to prepare for the eventual landing of Hurricane Irma that's supposed to start happening in the coming days. If there's no blog post or even a social media post for a few days, we all know why. We're expected to not get hit until Sunday but we're already bracing for the worst outcomes. We're stocked up on food, water, extra food for the pets, and anything else necessary to get us through the worst of the storm and afterwards.

As of right now we're looking at either a category 2 or 3 storm when she hits so all we can do is wait and see how this plays out! Until then, keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we ride out one of the nastiest storms to hit us in over two decades. I'm extremely thankful that we're not in our new house yet because we live on the fourth floor with hurricane proof windows, I'm hoping that helps us bare the worst of the storm.

Until then, you may see me paddle boarding down my street after it floods because who am I kidding? It's Charleston, we're about to flood up to our ears! If there's one thing Charlestonians are good at, it's kayaking down flooded streets!

Looking at Hurricane Irma like heyyy  👋 👋 👋

If you're waiting out the storm like us, be safe! Seek shelter, stay indoors at all times, and make sure you've got enough food for 72 hours for everyone in your home (including pets!).
