What I'm Wearing: Bell Sleeves

For whom the bell (sleeve) tolls, I'm not even sorry for that pun! Watch out, because I'm sure to make some more bell related puns throughout today's post featuring this amazing bell sleeve dress! I've had a whirlwind week with Valentine's Day last week and my birthday this week. We had a wonderful time celebrating over the long President's Day weekend including seeing some fun exhibits at SEWE like the dock dog contest, which if you don't know what that is, I highly recommend looking it up! It's dogs jumping into water and it's just the funniest thing ever!

We also enjoyed some incredible meals this past week like dining at 5 Church, Edmund's Oast, and Charleston's newest hottest restaurant, Paw Paw. All of them were to die for! I now need to hit the gym daily and all I've been eating are salads, soups, and smoothies to shake off any excess weight I gained! It was all totally worth it though. You're supposed to eat that good during your birthday week!

Thank you to everyone that's been sending me birthday messages through the blog and Instagram. It's so nice to receive such kind messages from everyone! 26 is going to be a huge year and we're already seeing some major goals met and conquered which is just incredible. I'm so incredibly thankful to be able to blog and share these kind of beautiful images with my followers!

Now on to the really fun stuff, this dress! The bell sleeves trend is making a huge comeback this year and for good reason! I've been thrilled seeing the return of some serious 1970's fashion including off the shoulder trends, bell sleeves, and wide legged denim. It's amazing how past styles come back into fashion but with a modern twist. This seersucker, lightweight, bell sleeve dress is ideal for these warm spring days. I know it's only February but we're already having temperatures in the 70's and even 80's! My shoulders got sunburned last weekend, who's ever said they got sunburned in February?!

Thankfully with this lightweight dress, I can wear it all day and not feel sticky or hot. Now that we are transitioning away from light sweaters and jackets, all I want to wear are lightweight clothing that allows me to freely move and not feel constrained.

I have a few bandage style dresses that sadly only ever see a few months of use! Unless I wear them out in the evenings, I can't ever wear them out in the day time or I would just die from sweating too much! This dress makes me feel like the southern girl that I am without totally overdoing it. Pairing it with my favorite booties and Charleston made tassel necklace keeps it looking fun and polished. Just my kind of style!

Although I'm somewhat sad to see the cooler temperatures go away, I am thrilled at the idea of spring arriving sooner that anticipated. I guess the groundhog was wrong on Groundhog Day! Instead of six more weeks of winter, we're looking at a early spring in the south. I don't think anyone is complaining though!

We've got a lot of fun travel plans this year and I certainly intend to bring this bell sleeve dress with me. Especially when we head out to L.A. for a wedding in June. Which, I'd love to hear any and all suggestions of what to do, eat, see, when we are out there! We'll be there for a week so we're looking to stay at an Airbnb for a few days to explore before staying at the hotel with the remainder of our wedding party.

This picture just captures everything about Charleston for me. A gorgeous outfit, our famous row houses, and stunning windows featuring traditional wrought iron work. I truly love living in this city and so thankful that I've been able to live here for the past 3 years and celebrate another birthday here.
