Fall is officially here and honestly, it's about time! Fall officially happened about a month ago and it's just now hitting the Lowcountry and I'm so excited. Early in the morning, it's nice and chilly where I can finally break out my fall jackets but by noon, it's hot. Like in the 80's kind of hot. Don't get me wrong, I love this time of year! However, it's definitely sent me into a bit of a tailspin when it comes to getting ready in the morning.
Y'all this is the face of one very happy girl! I cannot begin to express the amount of happiness that's currently in my life right now. I've been working with a few new photographers (which you can see on my Instagram), I've been working on some fun new projects that will be released this fall.
I've been struck with jungle fever y'all! This look is muy calente and I'm all about it! You may remember this was my first summer dappling with jeans shorts (I know, shocker) and since that fateful day, they've been a permanent fixture in my wardrobe this summer. Now that summer is winding down, these shorts aren't going anywhere. If anything, they're sticking around long into the remainder of this year by pairing them with a leather jacket and a sexy, tie up blouse.
"Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games. We got everything you want honey, we know the names. We are the people that can find whatever you may need if you got the money honey we got your disease."
Y'all, this is seriously going to sound bizarre, but I'm a HUGE fan of Guns n' Roses. No joke! P and I joke that Guns n' Roses are the foundation of our relationship but in a weird way, they are. We sing their songs to each other, make up dumb jokes about it, and on our anniversary last year, our favorite hole in the wall bar played their entire greatest hits album.
Those hot summer nights, goodness do I love them! But what I don't love is the how hot and sweaty I get from standing outside for two minutes! Y'all, the summer struggle is so real here! Thankfully I've got a multitude of ways to combat the heat in Charleston. I feel like my skin and body have physically changed in the past three years to live in this hot and humid enivornment!
Let me go ahead and apologize for being totally MIA lately! I know I haven't posted in, well, forever, but for good reason! I've been traveling to Los Angeles and I've also started a new job! What!! I'm now the Director of Marketing and Strategy with a luxury real estate company and I'm over the moon about my new position! So, again, I apologize for the severe lack of communication and outfits on my end. Which, if you follow me on Instagram, you'll be able to catch some of my favorite shots around and about LA. I'll have an LA recap post up soon but for now let's get down to brass tacks.
What I'm Wearing: Spring with Belk
Remember how I was talking about some nasty weather here in Charleston a week or so ago? Yeah, it’s all gone now. Welcome to winter in the south! Where it’s hot 340 days of the year and the rest are just somewhat cold! to be fair, some of our state got hit with snow and it did drop below freezing which hurt a lot of our crops down here.
What I'm Wearing: St. Patrick's Day
I know it must sound a little cliche, but St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. Maybe it’s the compulsion to wear nothing but green, which I look fabulous in, or the desire to be merry with the thousands of other people in my city celebrating
What I'm Wearing: Charleston Style
One thing that I’ve loved and been very thankful for since moving to Charleston is getting to know so many of the wonderful creatives based in Charleston. Over the past two years I’ve been able to work and collaborate with some of the best fashion based small businesses in the city, and have even seen them become dear friends. Whenever we work together to create gorgeous shoots, I’m always eager to jump on board!
